1. 304 Stainless Steel (Preferred choice for grains, edible oils, coffee, and food processing)
Made from food-grade material, it is rust-proof and corrosion-resistant. It does not react chemically with grains, coffee beans, or mixed cereals; it resists material buildup, is easy to clean, and is free from odors or mold growth. Its smooth surface prevents material from sticking or bridging, making it ideal for buffer hoppers paired with color sorters, dehullers, polishers, and packaging scales. It is the standard material for coffee and grain export production lines, though it is more expensive than carbon steel.
2. Powder-Coated / Baked-Enamel Carbon Steel (Economical material for large storage hoppers)
Constructed from welded standard carbon steel plate with anti-corrosion and anti-rust coatings applied to both interior and exterior surfaces. It offers low costs, robust structural integrity, and high load-bearing capacity, making it suitable for large-scale raw material storage silos within a facility. Its drawbacks include unsuitability for direct contact with moist or oily materials; damage to the coating can lead to rust and material contamination. It is primarily used for the temporary storage of raw materials and is not recommended for buffer hoppers holding finished products or specialty coffee beans.
