TAOBO destoner operates by leveraging the dual action of specific gravity differences and airflow assistance to separate beans from high-density impurities such as stones and soil clods; it is suitable for a variety of crops, including red kidney beans, chickpeas, pigeon peas, and sesame seeds.
The raw material is evenly spread across an inclined, reciprocating vibrating screen deck, while a fan continuously directs a low-pressure airflow upward through the screen surface. Lighter beans are buoyed by the airflow and remain suspended in the upper layer, whereas denser, heavier stones and soil clumps cannot be lifted and instead remain in contact with the bottom of the screen deck.
The screen deck undergoes small-amplitude reciprocating vibrations and features a surface pattern of raised, fish-scale-like perforations. The beans in the upper layer move forward toward the discharge end along the incline of the screen, while the heavy stones at the bottom are obstructed by the fish-scale pattern; driven by the vibration, they continuously climb in the opposite direction toward the stone collection end, thereby achieving a counter-flow separation of beans and stones.

Key Features of the Legume Destoner
✅ Thorough destoning with minimal product loss.
Utilizing a combination of airflow and gravity-based vibratory separation, stones and soil clumps are effectively removed. The stone discharge outlet is equipped with an air-recirculation system that blows any entrained whole red kidney beans or chickpeas back into the main product stream, minimizing waste and ensuring high raw material utilization.
✅ Food-Grade Compliant Design
Parts in contact with grain are made of stainless steel; the surface is free of burrs, resistant to dirt and dust accumulation, and easy to clean. The design complies with food processing hygiene standards in the EU and various African nations, making it suitable for export-oriented legume processing operations.
✅ Highly versatile; suitable for a wide range of grains and legumes.

The significance of removing stones from red kidney beans using beans destoner
✅ Ensuring product quality and meeting export inspection standards
After undergoing thorough destoning, the red kidney beans contain negligible amounts of stones; the finished product is clean, vibrant in color, and free of hard impurities, enabling it to successfully pass food safety inspections in the EU, Africa, and the Middle East, thereby securing stable export orders.
✅ Preventing severe wear and equipment downtime caused by jams
Stones are significantly harder than red kidney beans; if they enter polishing or gravity separation machines, they can scratch polishing rollers and puncture screens, leading to equipment jams and motor shutdowns due to overload. Removing stones beforehand drastically reduces the cost of replacing parts, ensures the continuous 24-hour operation of the production line, and lowers factory maintenance and operating expenses.
✅ Minimizing raw material loss and increasing finished product yield
Without a destoning process, grit and stones would be polished and sorted alongside the beans; the resulting friction and compression would cause a large number of beans to break, thereby reducing the yield of premium-grade beans.
It delivers excellent overall destoning performance, achieving a removal rate of over 99% for stones and grit of various sizes while minimizing bean loss. It ensures stable, continuous operation over the long term, and the processed beans fully meet international cleanliness standards for food exports, making it an indispensable piece of pre-processing destoning equipment for bean production lines.
The Taobo Destoner features a compact, modular design that minimizes the factory floor space required. With highly standardized inlet and outlet heights, it can be integrated directly in series with air-screen cleaners, gravity separators, and polishers, making it suitable for complete cleaning lines in both small- and large-scale bean processing plants.

2026 gravity separator utilizes differences in material specific gravity to perform sorting. It is specifically designed to remove impurities and inferior-quality grains that are similar in size to the target seeds—particles that are otherwise difficult to separate using conventional air-screen or vibrating-screen cleaners. It serves as a core piece of precision-sorting equipment in processing lines for grains, sesame seeds, and legumes.

Sesame seeds are extremely small (approximately 1.5–2 mm in diameter) and flat-oval in shape, with a smooth surface, high oil content, and relatively low specific gravity. These physical characteristics present unique challenges for cleaning: while light impurities—such as stalks, husks, dust, and shriveled or empty seeds—can be removed via air classification (aspiration), and oversized or undersized debris can be intercepted through screening, certain contaminants pose a greater difficulty. Specifically, stones, sand, clods of soil, and metal fragments—which are similar in size to sesame seeds but have a significantly higher specific gravity—cannot be effectively separated by either air classification (as they are too heavy to be moved by airflow) or screening (as they pass through or are retained alongside the seeds).

Pakistan is a significant global producer and exporter of sesame seeds, ranking as one of the few oilseed crops for which the country maintains a net export position. According to data from Pakistan’s Ministry of National Food Security and Research, the area under sesame cultivation expanded substantially from approximately 259,900 hectares in the 2022/23 crop year to about 399,800 hectares in 2023/24—an increase of 53%. Production reached approximately 301,200 tonnes, a sharp year-on-year rise of 97.7%. For the 2024/25 crop year, production is projected to climb further to approximately 440,000 tonnes (a 44.7% year-on-year increase), with the harvested area—as recorded by FAOSTAT—exceeding 700,000 hectares. The primary production regions are concentrated in Punjab province (cultivated during the *Kharif* monsoon season, covering approximately 1.76 million acres in 2024) and parts of Sindh province. In recent years, technical cooperation between Pakistan and China, alongside the adoption of contract farming, has led to significant improvements in both crop yields and the level of commercialization.
